Luasa Raelon - Season of the Witch (Snip-Snip)

Monumental synth doom from Ohio's Luasa Raelon, headed by David Reed of Snip-Snip Records. While a number of past Luasa Raelon releases had noisier industrial leanings to them, these 5 tracks of lush and sinister ambient are closer to his work as Envenomist. Most definitely recommended.

(CD, clear jewel case, to be restocked soon)

Luasa Raelon - Into The Void (Crucial Bliss)

Label info: "Finally, after a pronounced delay, we're presenting the latest in grim, Cthulhian ambient death from David Reed, the man behind the Snip-Snip CD-R label and the ice-drones of Envenomist. With Luasa Raelon, Reed uses deep-frozen synthesizers and electronics to construct pitch-black sonic sculptures that evoke lost cities carved from obsidian whose masterless machines have been left to grind on into eternity, or descents into stygian pits whose bottoms cannot be gauged. Into The Void is the newest masterwork from Reed, recorded in 2006 and presented here as a five-chapter narrative that chronicles a doomed space exploration, where all that is left are the faint transmissions of apocalyptic dread drifting back at us through time. Beyond ominous, and gorgeously eerie, Reed continues to craft some of the blackest, heaviest drift this side of Gruntsplatter, Troum, Lull, Yen Pox, Melek-Tha, Lustmord, and Megaptera. [...]"

Luciano Michelini - L'Isola Degli Uomini Pesce (Fin de Siècle Media)

Label info: "Luciano Michelini's action packed score for this Italian sci-fi adventure directed by Sergio Martino. It is a fusion of styles, which include highly dramatic material, romantically laced cues and pieces which by their sound and construction are obviously from the school of Italian film music. Previously released on LP by the prestigious label Cometa and now restored and presented for the first time ever on CD in a 6-page digipak with original artwork, film stills and liner notes by John Mansell!"

Lucisferrato - Weltanschauung (Old Europa Cafe)

Re-edition of a 1998 CD-R on Black Dead Rabbit along with a new track. A great introduction to this stunning Russian project known for releases on Der Angriff and Hau Ruck. Heavily layered operatic vocals and martial industrial come together in a majestic maelstrom of sound.

Lucisferrato - Childish Songs For Ugly Useless Dead Friends (Der Angriff)

To put it shortly, there is nothing that sounds like Lucisferrato. Layered and processed voices form the spine of this project's unique and very strange sound, and it often comes across as a hellish opera performed by a schizophrenic. Beautiful and haunting at the same time. This 10" is part of the Prometheus series put out on Der Angriff.

(10", to be restocked soon)

Lucisferrato - Ahnenschein (Der Angriff)

First CD release from this St. Petersburg artist, with one 35 minute track of thundering layered sounds and the imperious vocals this project has become known for.

(CD, oversized cardboard sleeve, to be restocked soon)

Lunar Abyss Deus Organum - Brusnika (Drone Records)

Shamanistic ethno-ambient from the ever prolific Evgueny Savenko, responsible for the various incarnations of the Lunar Abyss projects, Ritualnaya Bioingeneria, and the BioSonar label. The two tracks here gather the sound of crackling fire, warm bass drones and distant animal cries for a particularly organic type of ambient. Pick up their CD on Chimaera while you're at it.
