Panicsville - Sterile (Nihilist)

This is one visit to the hospital that'll have you calling for a nurse in no time, only to regret it as soon as she walks in. Starting off with the appropriately titled "Flatline", the release shifts from sedated bouts of hazy creepiness to cut-up noise aneurysms. Musique concrete, field recordings, ambient and noise all become stainless-steel instruments in the hands of Panicsville, and right now it's time for your shot. Features an exclusive video from the "Stabbed in the Face" sessions by Chicago underground film-maker, Usama Alshaibi.

Panicsville - Evil? (Nihilist)

Panicsville's 4th album and the most rhythm-oriented one so far, with plenty of Casio rhythms and arpeggiated synth lines to shake a SK-1 at. Toss in a copious amount of found sounds and effects, some swirling feedback noise and a couple of creepy lullabies and you're almost there. Includes an amusingly jarring cover of "Video Killed the Radio Star".The CD comes with a booklet between two wood panels held together by binder clips.

Panicsville - Perverse (Liquid Death / Hello Pussy)

Released in 2004, "Perverse" is another stroll into the happily deranged world of Panicsville. It's a somewhat noisier affair than its direct parent "Sterile", but it does keep the latter's taste for twisted sonic collages, diseased atmospheres and pulsating electronic howls. this is like dumpster-diving into surreal nightmares, and what you'll scrounge up will leave you with a black-toothed grin.

Pholde - In The Subset of All Elements (Taalem)

Label info: "Pholde is the ambient side of Canadian Alan Bloor that the noise maniacs will probably know under his other alias, Knurl.
Absolutely no noise here, just beautiful deep and scrapey metallic drones, sometimes even melodic, full of details... Those who loved the Lecanora 3" we released before (see alm 4) shouldn't miss this one, they won't be disappointed..."

Phragments - The Burning World (Eastern Front)

Second release from this Slovakian project, showcasing 7 tracks of bombastic orchestrations, martial atmospheres and industrial loops. While heavily influenced by a number of CMI acts (the Protagonist in particular) and not particularly distinguishable from its peers in this field, the album is rather well executed and efficient at what it sets out to achieve.

Pine Tree State Mind Control - Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy (Voidstar)

Monotone down-pitched loops and fuzzy blasts of noise are the weapons of choice in this 55-minute attempt at brainwashing courtesy of PTS Motivation Concepts. While a few tracks gradually slip into semi-voluntary stagnation, there are enough high points to warrant a peek at these gentlemen's informational brochure.

Poochlatz - Cold Turkey (BlackGapDeathTrap Records)

Poochlatz is the doom-noise-drone project of Israeli noiseniks Rani Zager (Vultures, Lietterschpich) and Maor Appelbaum (Screening, Vultures, and a number of releases under his own name). With one full-length CD under their belts, they're back with this live recording of their more doom metal influenced material. This is definitely a nice companion release to the Lietterschpich CD, as it share some of the same rough howled vocals but with a more sedated doom influence added to the whole thing.

(CD-R, individually handmade artwork, 7.00 € - to be repriced in USD)

PPF / I-C-K - Individualistes / Collectivistes (Steelwork Maschine)

Collaboration release between these two french projects, resulting in a 12" of old-school industrial with shuffling drum machine beats, buzzing analog synthesizers and heavily processed vocals. Side A features two tracks from PPF and four from I-C-K, while side B showcases the collaborative tracks between the two projects.

Propergol - GPWS (Stridulum / Annihilvs)

Propergol's latest full-length goes further into the cinematic and sample-heavy dark ambient side of the project previously hinted at by the Sea Green Series CD-Rs and the Watchmen 3". Inspired by and entirely focussed on the subject of airplane disasters, GPWS is quite likely Propergol's strongest effort so far. Fasten your seatbelts, we're in for a rough landing.

Raccoo-oo-oon - Is Night People (Release the Bats)

Label info: "Swirling sax-and-effects-heavy free-form punk from Iowa City's Raccoo-oo-oon. Is Night People is their first magical recording, 7 organic rituals creating a majestic outlet of neverending energy. Beautiful cascades of manipulated vocals and layers of feedback melting together over sunny explosions of insane drumming. In the vein of Sun City Girls, Here Comes The Indian-era Animal Collective, Excepter etc."
