Rudolf Eb.er & Kouhei - Self-titled (Para Disc)
Split release with Rudolf Eb.er (of Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock fame) contributing a 30+ min track of choppy, spastic bursts of weird sounds punching their way through a heavy silence, while Kouhei's three tracks go for a denser collage of detuned instruments, sharp noise and distant rumblings.

Hollydrift - Waiting For The Tiller (Parasomnic Records)
Hollydrift is Wisconsin-based Mathias Anderson's experimental sound project. "Waiting for the Tiller" is his first proper CD release if I'm not mistaken, and it's a finely crafted piece of work with a high level of attention paid to detail. The ten tracks here often work as collage pieces, with field recordings of all sorts (number stations, answering machine messages, nonsensical vocal snippets) mingling with radiant droning loops and sedated noise outbursts.

Dark ambient by Dälek's former turntablist (Hsi-Chang Lin), made exclusively with his Technics 1200's and an array of effects pedals. If Magwheels traded in his guitar for turntables, you'd get something not too dissimilar from the sort of melancholic swelling drones here.

Ait! / Novy Svet / O Paradis / Totenlieder - Drinking to Better Days (Punch Records)
A great experimental neo-folk compilation that brings together some of the most (and few) lively and interesting bands in this field. Each of the four participating projects contributed two tracks to this 12" EP. The luxurious hand-made sleeve is covered in blue velvet on the outside and satin on the inside, and this release is limited to 410 hand-numbered copies.
