Tranquilizer

Dissecting Table - Tranquilizer (MNDR)

Latest release from Ichiro Tsuji, this time on German label MNDR. 3 long tracks of filthy guitar noise, grunting and fuzz that each last over 11 minutes. The closest release would be "Groping in the Dark", but this is much slower and heavier.

(CD-R in a paper-sleeve, out of stock)

Ultra Milkmaids - 03/02/USA+ (MNDR)

Live material recorded during their American tour in 2002, along with two extra tracks. Sometimes melodic, sometimes noisy, these 30 minutes show you what these milkmaids can pull out of their guitar strings.

Melanchoholics - A Single Act Of Carelessness (MNDR / Deafborn)

Label info: "Building on the experimentations from their debut CD (with a mix of field-recordings, guitars, electronically manipulated sounds and spoken word fragments), Melanchoholics walk new paths by exploring several acoustic instruments (such as cello and accordion) and add various sources for drones to their gloomy mélange." Recommended for those who enjoy Magwheels, Aidan Baker and Troum.

Hidden Doors

The Missing Ensemble - Hidden Doors (Mondes Elliptiques / Angle Records)

Label info: "[...] John Sellekaers (Xingu Hill, Dead Hollywood Stars), Daniel De Los Santos (Tamarin) and Mathias Delplanque (Lena, Bidlo) open us the door to a universe whose maze conceals a multitude of other doors. Some are half-open, others are closed and many are, at first sight, invisible. As we explore further, we must let those secret doors some time to take shape, to reveal themselves... and it will then be possible to fix our attention on various aspects of the sound labyrinth that is presented to us, to come and go while letting ourselves be carried by the waves and the modulations, which then become our exploratory vehicle and form one body with us in the journey. Indeed, many doors are hidden, but they are awaiting to be discovered, probed... Behind them, fullness or emptiness..."

Cisfinitum - Bezdna (Monochrome Vision)

New album from this Moscow-based project known for previous releases on Waystyx and Drone Records. Using a wide array of analog soviet synthesizers (ANS, Polyvox, Yunost-21, Formanta to name a few) and acoustic instruments such as the violin, the accordion and the piano, Evgeny Voronovsky composes melodic electro-acoustic music which creates an emotional link with the listener instead of dwelling in self-indulgence. Definitely headphones material.

Grosor

Miguel A. Ruiz - Grosor (Monochrome Vision)

Label info: "This is the new, remastered version of classic material recorded back in 80s, next to postindustrial aesthetics priority in electronic music. Rigorous and austere, ascetic but dynamic, this music rearranges everyday being into mind-challenging imagination, reserving the leading parts for the habitual processes and domestic objects.
From the deep underground of Spanish industrial music, it comes to be rediscovered after 15 years."

h.h.t.p. & portablepalace - Cavitation (Monochrome Vision)

Label info: "The interaction between computer science technology and free-form musical creative process becomes a central point in this international collaboration of three artists from Belarus and USA. The abstract soundscapes are obscured by intricate structures, acoustic phenomena and electronic effects, it's going to infinity and never repeat itself. The finest harmony of soundfield is credited to the principles of intuitive simulation, realised through the system of computer-aided instruments."

Frank Rothkamm - Moers Works (1982 - 1984) (Monochrome Vision)

Old-school industrial experimentations recorded between 1982 and 1984 by Frank Rothkamm, a professionally trained musician who used to release his material on his own Flux Records label. Somewhere between tape collage, free-form ambient noise and chamber music, at times reminiscent of some instrumental Maria Zerfall tracks.
