False Mirror - North (Thonar Records)

Second full-length album from this German ambient project. Taking the Arctic as its environmental setting, "North" is a combination of field recordings from the North Atlantic ocean and wind storms, icy textures and deep polar pulses, not unlike Closing the Eternity's "Arctica" or Sleep Research Facility's "Deep Frieze". The suitably appropriate cover was painted by Sylvia Riester and was inspired by the fjords of Norway.

Forma4 - Cycle (DTA Records)

Label info: "Russian artist forma4 (a side project of kvadrat) takes us on a journey through all different sub genres of noise. in the end the album has a definite dark ambient feel to it, more so than anything else, but throughout the course of the album we are greeted with bits and pieces of power noise, minimalism, a little d-n-b, and various other types of electronic music."

Franco Micalizzi - Adolescenza Perversa (Fin de Siècle Media)

Label info: "World premiere release of this fantastic soundtrack to the obscure erotic drama from 1974, starring Femi Benussi, Malisa Longo and Dagmar Lassander. Franco Micalizzi delivers a number of beautiful and catchy themes which can easily compete with Ennio Morricone's best moments, and together with Edda Dell'Orso's occasional wordless vocals it's a winning combination. Presented in a 4-page digipak with original artwork and liner notes by John Mansell."

Franco Micalizzi - Superuomini Superdonne Superbotte (Fin de Siècle Media)

Label info: "Franco Micalizzi was born in Rome 21 December 1939. After composing a few soundtracks in the end of the sixties, he gained success in 1970 with the music for "Lo chiamavano Trinita'..." (My Name Is Trinity). During the seventies, he became one of the most prolific composers of Italian film music, scoring cult classics like "Roma a mano armata" (Rome Armed to the Teeth), "Napoli violenta" (Violent Naples) and "Chi Sei?" (Beyond the Door)."
"The score for SUPERUOMINI SUPERDONNE SUPERBOTTE has never been released before in any form, making this CD the world premiere! The untitled cues have been carefully restored from the stereo master tapes, except the bonus tracks which could only be found on a mono source with inferior sound quality. Some of the shortest and most recurring themes have been merged together to further enhance the listening experience."

It's a varied affair with styles including orchestral, funky, groovy and atmospheric - just about everything you can ask for from a 70's cops and robbers soundtrack!"

Frank Rothkamm - Moers Works (1982 - 1984) (Monochrome Vision)

Old-school industrial experimentations recorded between 1982 and 1984 by Frank Rothkamm, a professionally trained musician who used to release his material on his own Flux Records label. Somewhere between tape collage, free-form ambient noise and chamber music, at times reminiscent of some instrumental Maria Zerfall tracks.

Gate To Gate - I Turn Black Keys (PACrec)

Label info: "Confused like a two-headed snake trying to bite its own non-existant tail, Gate to Gate churn through gross tones, bass shudder and worst of all - vocals - with exactly the maladroit precision you'd expect from such a beast. This release presents one new 38 minute mess of blackened clatter and clunk, as well as collects their two extremely limited cassettes BANE and HOUSE WITH THE CLOCK IN ITS WALLS in remastered form. Heavy-handed and heavy-footed industrial noise by all accounts. from the blackened minds of Greh (Hive Mind, Chondritic Sound) and Mike Connelly (Hair Police, Wolf Eyes, Gods of Tundra). nearly 80 minutes of satanic black sludge."

Genetic Transmission - Ascetic (Beast of Prey)

New album from this absurdly overlooked Polish industrial pioneer, whose previous work includes many self-releases on Die Schöne Blumen Musik Werk and activities in projects such as Ładne Kwiatki, Godzilla and Hated Bruit Kollectiv. "Ascetic" is just as abstract and demanding as one would expect, with its brittle electro-acoustic textures slithering and scraping through three 20-min tracks. An acquired taste for some, but those interested in Niellerade Fallibilisthorstar and modern futurism shouldn't ignore this one.

Genghis Tron - Cloak Of Love (Crucial Blast)

File under "what the fuck just happened?". If this debut EP is anything to go by, Genghis Tron can't seem to keep apart their various and diametrically opposed musical influences no matter how short the track. What you'll get here is a mutant smorgasbord of electropop, grindcore (BLASTBEATS!) and total spazz-outs. Proficiently executed and guaranteed to confuse pretty much everybody.
