Hermann Kopp - Nekronology (Red Stream)
Label info: "Nekronology is a compilation of mournful musical selections from director Jorg Buttgereit's infamous films, Nekromantik, Nekromantik 2, and Der Todesking. The tracks contained on this release were performed by artist Hermann Kopp. The idea behind the music was to create a dreary atmosphere through a raw, ritualistic sound. You can hear Kopp's signature violin groans, and moog snythesizer during scenes such as the bathtub suicide, the rabbit being skinned alive, and the necrophila sequences. Co-released with underground splatter mag, Ultra Violent."
(CD, jewel case, to be restocked soon)
Hilter - Sexfilms (Ars Benevola Mater)
With titles such as "Sushi Slut Sisters" and "Analdildo", you'd expect some sort of OTT power electronics, but "Sexfilms" is all about crude bass drones, cut-up VHS porn samples (complete with tape hiss) and occasional outbursts of noise.

Hollowing & Maor Appelbaum - Collaborating Torture (Topheth Prophet / Heart & Crossbone)
One monolithic 54 min track of spectral ambience courtesy of Israeli musician Maor Appelbaum (Poochlatz, Vultures) and the late Matt Gibney (AKA Hollowing, So I Had To Shoot Him and owner of the Rectrix label). Those of you who picked up his collaboration with Chaos as Shelter which we released back in 2005 should definitely look into this.

Hollydrift - Waiting For The Tiller (Parasomnic Records)
Hollydrift is Wisconsin-based Mathias Anderson's experimental sound project. "Waiting for the Tiller" is his first proper CD release if I'm not mistaken, and it's a finely crafted piece of work with a high level of attention paid to detail. The ten tracks here often work as collage pieces, with field recordings of all sorts (number stations, answering machine messages, nonsensical vocal snippets) mingling with radiant droning loops and sedated noise outbursts.

Horologium - Le Cartoline Perse (By Blade Records)
A collection of some rare and unreleased tracks by this Polish project. Most of it is mid-paced loop-based material with an occasional orchestral touch, some of it mixes it up with more pronounced rhythms (is that beat lifted from a George Harrison song?). On a side-note, neither the random postcards on the cover nor the tracks evoke anything remotely Persian, so you'll have to figure that out on your own.

Igor Krutogolov - Wardrobe (Auris Media)
If you've heard Igor Krutogolov's solo track on the "Tel Aviv Aftermath" compilation, you might be somewhat prepared to hear what this release has to offer: a strange soundtrack to an unpublished film by Yamamoto Hiromi & Takayuki Iwasawa. This is strange avant-garde material without the academic posturing. A crystal-clear recording of murmured voices, bizarre vocals, acoustic guitars, bells, creaking doors, cello and who knows what else. You might not listen to it on a regular basis, but it will still in your mind.

Igor Krutogolov - White (Topheth Prophet / Auris Media)
Label info: "'White' is a new solo release from Igor Krutogolov and was conceived as a single conceptual work sub-divided into seven parts. The overall approach combines elements of neo-classical composition, electro-acoustic ambient and minimalism. Among the instruments used for this album are the bowed bass, strings, the flute, keyboards, and field recordings of birds and human voices."

Igor Krutogolov's Karate Band - Children 4 Muzik (Auris Media)
New band that brings together 11 musicians (including the whole Kruzenshtern & Parohod roster) and an arsenal of toys as the sole instruments, resulting in some beautifully noisy and playful racket. From tango to black metal (that track alone is worth the admission price), the variety of styles covered in the 7 tracks is even more impressive considering the nature of the instruments, and the skilled musicianship pushes this beyond mere gimmickry. Excellent stuff. The CD contains two videos and photos from live performances at the Green Raccoon in Tel-Aviv.

Inade - Aldebaran (Cold Spring)
Label info: "The masters of Black Ambient! "Aldebaran" is the black sun of the secret knowledge. This work focuses on the German Vril society myths of 'Aldebaran', from which universal spirituality is said to originate. One hour of immense walls of dark, brooding atmospherics, pulsating anthems of the universal power, mixed with themes of heritage and history. The ultimate document of deep and cavernous dark ambient."

Inanna - Day ov Torment (Cold Spring)
Label info: "Reissue of the massive Death Industrial album from this ARCHON SATANI side-project, originally issued by Staalplaat in 1993. INANNA were at the forefront of a new force in Doom Ambiance way back in the early '90s. This remastered and repackaged album brings alive one of the classic scene albums - a milestone in ultra grim and crushing death sonics, that paved the way for many Drone and Ritual Industrial bands around today. Mixed by J Havukainen (IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES)."
