Oleg Kostrow - Imago (Solnze Records)
"Imago" is a soundtrack to a theater play by the same name written by Maxim Kurochkin. The material here is composed and recorded by Oleg Kostrow, one of the two members of Messer Für Frau Müller. Pretty much indistinguishable from MFFM, the tracks on this CD feature the same combination of light-hearted lounge / exotica with playful Jean-Jacques Perrey-style electronics.

Omenya - Ancient Rites (Purple Soil)
Third CD by Mark Davis, following up his releases on Tantric Harmonies and Klangalerie. Delicate "ethno-ambient" à la Rapoon.
(CD, fold-out paper cover w/ 6-page booklet, 12.00 € - to be repriced in USD)

Ond - S/T (Inner Gravity)
Debut release from this American dark ambient duo whose memorable CD-R release on Somnambulant Corpse ("For Influence Blooms Of The Subtle Wing") some of you might remember. On this album the sound is bass-heavy, melodic and mournful, with some minimal percussion pacing some of the tracks. While the two longest pieces slightly suffer from being stretched out for too long with too little, that shouldn't detract from what is an overall solid debut.
(CD, jewel case, 12.00 € - to be repriced in USD)

Onirot - Augusta Taurinorum (Inner Gravity)
There's very little information on this one, so a brief summary will have to do. What you'll find here is a combination of cinematic (as in trailer-style sped-up sound effects) dark ambient and horror movie synth soundtrack. Despite minor production limitations (not everyone can be an instant Lustmord when doing sound design), there's a definite "demon in the cellar" B-movie charm to this. Pick it up and find out.

Onirot - Deus Ex Machina (Inner Gravity)
Final part of the Onirot trilogy. This time round the production is crystal-clear and the sound incorporates distant mechanical rumblings, footsteps and mangled drones into the mix. It seems the dank cellars have been left for desolate industrial fields, and the result definitely warrants praise. Well done!

Opium - Sympathetic Flying Objects (Silentes)
Opium is active in the ambient field with various projects and collaborations with Alio Die, Francesco Paladino and Antonio Testa, and Silentes presents here his debut release under this moniker. The six tracks of this album rely mostly on soothing synth washes enriched with discreet field recordings and various noises, occasionally layering some rhythmical elements into the background. While there's inevitably some level of déjà-vu, the overall quality of the recording warrants it attention from ambient listeners.

Origami Galaktika / I:Wound / Inderst Elia - Monolake (Purple Soil)
Label info "Repress of the most beautiful of several B9/I: WOUND live collaborations. Recorded already in 2000 in Oslo, originally released as limited CD-R on AMBERMUSIC year later, using fragments from still legendary, but still unreleased ORIGAMI GALAKTIKA “Laos Vegas” album, this high-peak of live ambience comes again carefully re-mastered from the original minidisk (by Karel Kourek, man responsible for the sound of all recent h3o and OOPHOI albums) and re-packaged in nice paper fold-out cover."
(CD, fold-out paper cover w/ 6 page booklet, 12.00 € - to be repriced in USD, last copy)

Ovro - Gegendurchgangenzeit (Some Place Else)
Label info: "An exercise on aural pathworking. Cinematic isolationist dark-ambient soundscapes, very evocative... you are taken through rainy seas, soaked, shipwrecked, underwater, underground... and what sights you see, what beings you meet on the way is left for your subconscious to reveal. Deep listening for small hours. Sit back, relax and let your mind go."

Panicsville - Sterile (Nihilist)
This is one visit to the hospital that'll have you calling for a nurse in no time, only to regret it as soon as she walks in. Starting off with the appropriately titled "Flatline", the release shifts from sedated bouts of hazy creepiness to cut-up noise aneurysms. Musique concrete, field recordings, ambient and noise all become stainless-steel instruments in the hands of Panicsville, and right now it's time for your shot. Features an exclusive video from the "Stabbed in the Face" sessions by Chicago underground film-maker, Usama Alshaibi.
