Vetrophonia - Promzona (Ultra)
Second CD release from this collaborative project between the Russian activists responsible for ZGA and Linija Mass / Stalnoy Pakt. While somewhat more accessible than "Simultannostb", Promzona carries over much of the same elements but in a more refined form, resulting in what is possibly their best release yet. Oxygen-starved symphonic loops, field recordings, didgeridoos and metallic clangs form a soundtrack to a desolate world of slowly sinking tugboats and aborted construction sites.

Vetrophonia - Shumographika (Strange Sounds Records)
New 2005 album from the duo of St. Petersburg veterans Nick Soudnick (ZGA) and Alexander Lebedev-Frontov (Linija Mass, Stalnoy Pakt). As with their most recent releases, the material is carefully constructed from a wide range of noises and sounds, ranging from the familiar (bells, dog barks, metal sheets, drum rolls, old vinyls) to the unnameable. More serene and intimate than the epic "Promzona", "Shumographika" is Futurist poetry at its best. Russian import.
