Agnivolok - Cherries (Eastern Front)
Originally planned to be released a few years ago as "Cherries for the Golden Skull", this album has finally surfaced through the efforts of Israeli label The Eastern Front. As before, The band is singer Vera Agnivolok, Igor Krutogolov and Vadim Gusis (Chaos as Shelter), and "Cherries" further explores their combination of mournful folk music with uneasy ambient passages.

Second release from this Slovakian project, showcasing 7 tracks of bombastic orchestrations, martial atmospheres and industrial loops. While heavily influenced by a number of CMI acts (the Protagonist in particular) and not particularly distinguishable from its peers in this field, the album is rather well executed and efficient at what it sets out to achieve.

Reminiscent of a much more luminous version of Endura during the more ambient pieces, with the esoteric aspects of Freemasonry replacing Lovecraftian lore as the aesthetic foundation.

Inspired by Lionel Tran's novel "Traverser du Désert" and involving a number of other artistic contributions such as the calligraphy of Thomas Foucher and the photography of Jean-Marie Arnouil, "Traverser" is a beautifully presented journey across a scorched desert where daytime mirages cede only to the night's icy winds.
