Magicicada - Everyone is Everyone (Public Guilt)
Label info: "Everyone is Everyone is an organic, experimental work that blends traditional, as well as folk and eastern instruments with found objects, samplers and field recordings to create a work that varies from delicate, cinematic soundscapes to harsh electronic environments. The instrumentation includes (but is not limited to): pump organ, voice, contact mics on faulty electrical lines, melodica, toys, iron balls rolling on wooden floors, accordion, cellophane, air cans, tape decks for the blind, guitar, shruti box, MARTA (Atlanta’s public transit), synths, oven door (percussion,) cellos, zurna, paper, frogs in the backyard, and the remains of Hurricane Denis shaking the roof."
(CD, Arigato pak with inserts, $8.00, on sale)

Still - Remains (Public Guilt)
Dark ambient by Dälek's former turntablist (Hsi-Chang Lin), made exclusively with his Technics 1200's and an array of effects pedals. If Magwheels traded in his guitar for turntables, you'd get something not too dissimilar from the sort of melancholic swelling drones here.

Novy Svet / O Paradis - Destello de Estrellas en la Frente (Punch Records)
Beautiful follow-up to their collaboration CD released in 2003, with the same combination of acoustic Mediterranean folk music and electronic psychedelia that made it a success.

O Paradis - La Boca Del Infernio (Punch Records)
"Hell's Mouth" stares at you on the cover of this new release from O Paradis, and the 10 tracks are a suitably infernal mix of seductive beauty and blackened ugliness. The gentle Mediterranean guitars are present as before, but dirtied by plaintive looped noises and a taste for the dissonant. Quite likely the most experimental work by O Paradis so far, one on which he bares himself in more ways than one.

Ait! - Romanticismo Oltranzista (Punch Records)
Label info: "Ladies and Gentlemen: Mr. AIT! is back at last to reveal himself with a new kinky show
for those of you having lost their heart in a dark Italian discotheque, some thirty years ago.
With a couple of hard-boiled songs and a boxful of extremist love letters
this obscure erotique one man orchestra gets its stylish fists right into the face of today's fashion kids. Too strong to be pussy. Too pussy to be romantic. A bizarre cup of circus fun served in a Jess Franco ballet dance through hell.
Remember the mirrorballs and watch this whole unique striptease from lounge to funk to rock'n'punk. Everything in here, more than a spicy cocktail. All shaken not stirred. A punch of its own!"

Comando Suzie - Pobres Chavales (Punch Records)
First album from a Spanish duo with a rather slick and sexy take on new-wave / 80's electro-pop. The eleven tracks of this album recount tales of "love, desire, remorse and punishment" set in Barcelona and as crooned by Comandante Raul. Sarcastic and refreshingly spirited.

Erik Ursich - Electronic Diffraction Patterns (Punch Records)
Setting aside the 70's synth LP vibe of his first album for another trip back in time to the raw electronic sounds of the 50's, Erik Ursich's new exercise in style is much less musical in nature and focuses more on the sounds themselves. Sounds of vintage analog synthesizers which come across as an homage to Louis and Bebe Barron's ground-breaking soundtrack to "Forbidden Planet", with melody and rhythm shunned in favor of texture, timbre and atonality over the course of this album's 5 long tracks. Highly recommended to those into early synth experimentation and bleeps and bloops. The CD includes a video which can be viewed on PCs.

O Paradis - Cuando el Tiempo Sopla (Punch Records)
A new album's worth of beautiful and melancholic tunes from Barcelona's O Paradis. The tone is sorrowful and nostalgic, with the passing of time serving as a constant theme throughout the album (I don't think I'm imagining those tick-tocking rhythms). Definitely a step away from the more upbeat collaborations with Novy Svet and even more unusual in some ways than "La Boca del Infierno" ("Desnuda" will certainly mess with you), this is another excellent release from O Paradis that's rightfully been released by Punch Records.
(CD, clear jewel case, out of stock)
O Paradis - Las Nubes que Mueren (Punch Records)
2CD compilation of previously abandoned and unreleased tracks and demos from past recording sessions. While this sort of exercise usually gathers leftovers that prove only interesting to completists, O Paradis' level of work makes this collection a release that can definitely stand on its own merit.
