Krepulec - New Radical (Beast of Prey)
Krepulec is a duo involving the head of the Beast of Prey label and the person behind Horologium. While they have released a number of splits and EPs, this is their first full-length album and it's the same blend of martial rhythms, neo-folk and subdued industrial influences as on their previous discs. A note-worthy aspect of this album is the recurrent use of accordions, which adds a nice nostalgic touch to its sound.

First CD release from this long-active UK-based noise artist who's put out tapes, CD-Rs and vinyl on Self-Abuse, Nihilist and his own label, Belief Recordings. The sounds here range from spastic cut-up outbursts à la Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock to distressed sine tones.

N. - Memories From Before Being Born (Belligeranza)
Produced using nothing more than two empty tape-recorders connected to each other, this is the sound of nothingness, hollow frequencies and flat electroencephalograms. This album is presented over the course of 27 short tracks and fulfills its conceptual promise by straining raw, scum-drenched bass tones to oblivion.

Lunar Abyss Deus Organum - Snovidenie (BioSonar Labirint)
First full-length CD album from the new incarnation of the long-active St Petersburg project known as Lunar Abyss Quartet. The material presented here is in the vein of the Brusnika 7" released on Drone Records and the Sleeping in the Sleep mini-album, with a similarly haunting and ethereal atmosphere. Ritual percussion, traditional Russian folk instruments and field recordings come together to form these incantations for forest spirits over a background of hazy drones and discreet electronics. A personal favorite that comes highly recommended.
Each copy comes in a different hand-made cardboard package.

Lunar Abyss Deus Organum - Uzor (Biosonar Labirint)
The third CD release from LADO gathers compilation and EP tracks from 2002-2004 (namely the tracks featured on "Heilige Feuer III", "Thalamus II", the "Holy Mother Russia" LP on Steinklang, "Listopad Vot On" and the "Brusnika" Drone Records 7-inch).
A perfect entry point for those uninitiated to Lunar Abyss Deus Organum, and a much needed compendium of particularly strong material for those already entranced by Evgeny Savenko's works.

Fifth release (and first pressed CD) from Dead Man's Hill. Bombastic orchestral industrial strongly inspired by early In Slaughter Natives, but with a somewhat more electronic flavor. Features the collaborative track "Sacrifice of Subscription" with spoken word artist it-clings and a remix of "Legions of Coldness" by Fractured.

It-Clings vs. Pneumatic Detach - The All Too Logical Descent Into Madness (Bugs Crawling out of People)
Spoken words by It-Clings with pounding beats provided by Pneumatich Detach (Hive Records). Not exactly the "hearing faint voices inside your head" kind either, this is more like inviting a spiteful cynic with a megaphone to rant away to his heart's content from the comfort of inside your cranium. From lucid observations to over-the-top diatribes, there's thankfully enough black humor in here to keep it from turning into a neurotic moan fest. You'll also find out more about a new creative use for a spoon.
