A Crown of Amaranth - Love Lies Bleeding (Crucial Bliss)
Label info: "Malevolent plunder ambient and knife-wielding nocturnal electronics. Heavily saturated field recordings of inter-dimensional beasts breaking through to this world. Mega sinister drones from deep space freighter missions. Sad chorals emerge from circuit wars. Awesome epic planet-destroying guitar instrumentals. A CROWN OF AMARANTH follows up the Manuscript/Winterupt release on Audio Savant with this eerie and surreal noise/ambient/post-rock/mutant electronica sound exploration."

A Crown Of Amaranth - Manuscript / Winterupt (Audio Savant)
First full-length from this American experimental noise / ambient project whose upcoming third album will be out soon on Eibon Records. Just as eclectic as "Love Lies Bleeding", you'll hear blasts of jet engine noise, farmyard field recordings (yes, that's a pig all right), warbling drones, solemn piano pieces, howling sirens and who knows what else over the course of this record.

Aidan Baker - Exoskeleton Heart (Crucial Bliss)
Label info: "Following up his amazing Periodic disc that was issued through Crucial Bliss two years ago, acclaimed Toronto drone-guitarist Aidan Baker is back with Exoskeleton Heart, his newest entry into our ongoing Crucial Bliss series. And this 2-track, hour long excursion into deep feedback bliss is stunningly beautiful. Split into two halves, "Interior" and "Anterior", Baker once again taps into his visions of the bodycage using only his electric guitar, performed and recorded live; the result is an evocative feedback-heavy dronescape drifting with the gritty hum of the amplifier, layers of shimmering, chiming feedback, crushing distorted ambient dirge that borders on Sunn O)))-levels of sonic weight, and shafts of elegiac melody breaking through the stormclouds of Baker's cavernous rumbling like rays of sunlight. Aidan Baker is without question the North American counterpart to the Tuetonic guitar drones of Troum, and Exoskeleton Heart delivers some of his most massive, meditative, crushing, and beautiful subterranean drift yet. Hell, the final 10 minutes of "Anterior" is without questions one of the most beautiful things we have ever presented through this label, an angelic glacial melody that builds inexorably into a wall of blissed out fuzz a la something you'd expect from Aidan's drone sludge band Nadja. Essential. [...]"

Aidan Baker & The Infant Cycle - Rural Sprawl (Zhelezobeton)
Label info: "Canadian musicians Aidan Baker and Jim DeJong (aka The Infant Cycle) have used the "gentleman's kit" of modern experimenters for creating the compositions of this disk: guitar, bass, tapes, samples, feedback generator and thumb piano. The four album tracks correspond with the four seasons, the four states of the soul...
[...]
The first two tracks were recorded in 2001 (and released on CD-R by the Italian label Blade Records in 2002 in a very limited edition), two others were recorded in 2005 and thus completed the natural cycle of this album."

Alexander Lebedev-Frontov - Chaos (ALF Produkt)
Re-release of the earliest recordings from Alexander Lebedev-Frontov, made back in 1985-1986 before Linija Mass came to be and when St Petersburg was still known as Leningrad. The material is a combination of cut-up noise and tape collage with crudely constructed loop structures that hint at the many projects to come. Digitized from cassettes.
(CD-R, handmade cardboard sleeve with color insert, $12.00)

Alexander Lebedev-Frontov - Cosmos (ALF Produkt)
More archive recordings from Alexander Lebedev-Frontov (also known for Linija Mass, Stalnoy Pakt, Veprisuicida) recorded in 1986, right after "Chaos". Less abrasive in some regards than the previous release and with more decaying gramophone sounds and radio broadcasts amid the cut-up noise. Digitized from tape.
(CD-R, handmade cardboard sleeve, $12.00)

Alexei Boris / Jeff Surak - Ulitsa Novatorov (Locus of Assemblage)
Label info: "Alexei Borisov is the godfather of Russian experimental music. Active since the early 1980s, Borisov was the driving force behind many new wave, industrial, electronica bands such as Tsentr, Nochnoi Prospekt, F.R.U.I.T.S. and Vogla. Borisov has performed to packed stadiums to underground clubs in the former Soviet Union, and is a regular participant in many European festivals. On this new release on Locus of the Assemblage Borisov is joined by Surak (Violet, v., -1348- etc), creating post industrial compositions, that are thick, rhythmic and abstract".

Altar of Flies - Dead Air, Broken Wings (BlackGapDeathTrap Records)
CD-R re-release of the tape with an extra track. Altar of Flies is Mattias Gustafsson from Sweden, and this project is one of those great surprises you run into and feel like sharing with whoever is actually reading this. This is tense, sputtering electronic sludge with industrial overtones done right, crafted into an organic beast with a life of its own. Limited to 50 copies, and we've only got two to spare.
(CD-R, individually handmade artwork, out of stock)

Arc - 13th (Taalem)
Label info: "Arc is a Canadian trio comprised of Aidan Baker, Richard Baker (no, they're not brothers) and Christopher Kukiel. It was formed spontaneously in 1999.
Arc's music is based on drones and melodic loops created by Aidan's heavily-treated guitar. Add Richard and Chrisopher's tribal-ish rhythms made with various percussive instruments and you get the picture. [...]"
