Vetrophonia - Symformoza (Ultra)
Vetrophonia is Alexander Lebedev-Frontov (Linija Mass) and Nick Soudnick (ZGA). Symformoza is the logical result of such a collaboration, with the former's preference for raw mechanical loops and the latter's taste for ritualistic percussive sounds and tense atmospheres. This release is limited to 120 copies and features a beautiful cover designed by Lebedev-Frontov.

Vetrophonia - The Space Voyage (Zhelezobeton)
Label info: "The science fiction film "The Space Voyage" was first shown in Soviet cinema theatres in January 1936. [...] The film narrates about the bravery of young pioneers, the willingness of Soviet women to always come to aid, the fearlessness of scientists and their determination to sacrifice their lives in the name of science. [...]
The original film had a soundtrack compiled of various classical music compositions. But what can be more appropriate to the constructivist spirit of Soviet time than the retro-futurism of St. Petersburg's noise scene classics? The Vetrophonia duet consisting of Nickolay Soudnick (ZGA) and Alexander Lebedev-Frontov (Linija Mass, Stalnoy Pakt, Veprisuicida, etc.) solved this task with enthusiasm. During 2005 while working in the ZGA studio they laboriously collected samples, recorded the parts of electronic and acoustic instruments and composed collages for each specific scene of the film. The result turned out to be beyond all praise.
The DVD-R with the movie has an option of turning on English subtitles, comes with a booklet containing an article about the shooting process and is packed in a special cardboard sleeve.

Yannick Dauby - Chant de Dune (Taalem)
Label info: "yannick dauby is a french composer, known for his collaborations with alio die ("descendre cinq voiles à l'ombre d'une voile" cdsingle on amplexus), mnortham (the "entrelacs" project) or thomas köner (the recent "zyklop" 2cd set on mille plateaux). this 3" is a re-release of a piece yannick dauby self-released in 1999, now accompanied by a new piece. deep concrete ambient music...
"sounding sands are found in many places in the whole world. this rare natural phenomenon, is represented most of the time by beaches, whose sand is squeaking when it is struck or pushed. however, in some deserts, we meet some large dunes which have a more astonishing activity. sand avalanches, mostly provocated by the wind, create very deep sounds, extremely powerful, accompanied by tremors and lasting for several minutes. unexplained, these singings from the desert are despicted like roarings, voices from surnatural beings or the rumbling of the thunder."
