A roller coaster ride of manic beats, hysterical vocals and mastered lunacy. Catchy as hell and bound to be repeatedly listened to if you think Dan Deacon slugging it out with Hearts of Darknesses while the Mile 329 gang cheers them on sounds like a great idea. Somebody get this guy to put out more music NOW, or I'll have to do it myself.

Just as eclectic as "Love Lies Bleeding", you'll hear blasts of jet engine noise, farmyard field recordings (yes, that's a pig all right), warbling drones, solemn piano pieces, howling sirens and who knows what else over the course of this record.

Goreghast - Nightmares (Beast of Prey)
Debut release from Goreghast, a dark ambient project from Poland by the person also responsible for Paranoia Inducta. The sound is somewhat reminiscent of a more electronic and rough version of some Cold Meat Industry material (Desiderii Marginis and Atrium Carceci do come to mind), with chorals, reversed voices, metallic clangs and all.

Funkstillesender / Komatöserzustand - Dno (Beta-Sendung)
Comatose ambient made from layers of radio noise and static by these two obscure Russian projects. The presentation is cheap (don't expect anything beyond a photocopied sheet and a white CD-R in a slim case), but it somehow fits the rough lo-fi nature of the sounds to be found here.

Shumy Rossii - Nevidimost (BioSonar)
Label info: "Shumy Rossii (aka Les Bruits Russes) is a unique project on Russian post-industrial scene. To create their music they don't use any instruments except for voices of their vocalists. Altar of Flies - Dead Air, Broken Wings (BlackGapDeathTrap Records)
CD-R re-release of the tape with an extra track. Altar of Flies is Mattias Gustafsson from Sweden, and this project is one of those great surprises you run into and feel like sharing with whoever is actually reading this. This is tense, sputtering electronic sludge with industrial overtones done right, crafted into an organic beast with a life of its own. Limited to 50 copies, and we've only got two to spare.
