Lunar Abyss Deus Organum - Snovidenie (BioSonar Labirint)
First full-length CD album from the new incarnation of the long-active St Petersburg project known as Lunar Abyss Quartet. The material presented here is in the vein of the Brusnika 7" released on Drone Records and the Sleeping in the Sleep mini-album, with a similarly haunting and ethereal atmosphere. Ritual percussion, traditional Russian folk instruments and field recordings come together to form these incantations for forest spirits over a background of hazy drones and discreet electronics. A personal favorite that comes highly recommended.
Each copy comes in a different hand-made cardboard package.

Lunar Abyss Deus Organum - Geologorazvedka (Biosonar Labirint)
"Geologorazvedka" finds LADO moving away from their ritual grounds and delving exclusively into analogue synthesizers. That said, this is not a sterile exercise in purity as the four tracks here intricately intertwine the layers, pulsations and clatter into a kaleidoscopic mass that grows like photoluminescent vegetation. Perfect for late-night sessions.

The third CD release from LADO gathers compilation and EP tracks from 2002-2004 (namely the tracks featured on "Heilige Feuer III", "Thalamus II", the "Holy Mother Russia" LP on Steinklang, "Listopad Vot On" and the "Brusnika" Drone Records 7-inch).
A perfect entry point for those uninitiated to Lunar Abyss Deus Organum, and a much needed compendium of particularly strong material for those already entranced by Evgeny Savenko's works.

Shumy Rossii - Nevidimost (BioSonar Labirint)
Label info: "Shumy Rossii (aka Les Bruits Russes) is a unique project on Russian post-industrial scene. To create their music they don't use any instruments except for voices of their vocalists. The main method of sound-expressing is perfectly executed collage technique. This CD contains the recording of live show, being held in the city of Obninsk in April 2003."
