Brutum Fulmen - Flesh Of The Moon (Crippled Intellect Productions)
First full-length CD from Brutum Fulmen, Jeff Wrench's main experimental sound project. While there is no shortage of sound artists who rely on field recordings for their material and delve into the often dessicated fields of musique concrète, few that I'm aware of have managed to turn them into such lush electro-acoustic compositions that actually warrant repeated listenings. The 10 tracks gathered here are carefully crafted from the sounds of old manual typewriters, hinges, metal, feedback, and other common and uncommon objects, and the booklet provides an extensive list of these sources which is always interesting to read as you listen to the end result. Consistently captivating.

Chaos as Shelter - Dead Air Broadcasts (DTA Records)
One of the early releases by this Israeli dark ambient act. Relying on processed and sampled radio sounds as the basis for most of the tracks, "Dead Air Broadcasts" shows much more depth once you familiarize yourself with it. Might definitely appeal to Kryptogen Rundfunk fans.

Concrete Belly - Concrete Belly [mn031] (Mechanoise Labs)
Somewhere between bedroom folk music, circuit-bent electronics and comatose drones, this mini-album brings together a little selection of tracks sent to us by this UK musician. The fragile melodies and shimmering guitar sounds might bring to mind some of Aidan Baker's releases, but the noisier riffs and more loop-based structures of these tracks definitely give them their own personality. Disarmingly touching music.

Contagious Orgasm - The Flow of Sound Without Parameter (Ground Fault)
Label info: "Recordings of the sound of a town in Germany. The sound of a park being cleaned. Recordings at a zoo. A conversation in the kitchen. The scenic sounds on a balcony. These sounds were processed, and other sounds were added with ambient beats mixed in. This gives you The Flow of Sound Without Parameter."

Contagious Orgasm - Illegal Occupation of Ears (Old Europa Cafe)
2 long sonic constructions of recycled sounds and ambient drones. One of the noisier releases, with washes of wind-swept reverberation covering everything.

Contagious Orgasm - Flows Out (Waystyx)
Structured electro-beats, syncopating rhythms and fragile collages of cut-up sounds resonate with the added benefit of a crystal-clear production. Could be a companion release to "The Flow of Sound Without Parameter".

Contagious Orgasm / Government Alpha - Heartstrings (SSSM)
Third recent collaboration release on Contagious Orgasm's home label, this time with Yasutoshi Yoshida of Government Alpha who's been responsible for the great collage artwork on all these CDs. Over these 12 tracks, Government Alpha's screeching blasts of white-hot electronic noise are cut-up and mixed in with Contagious Orgasm's industrial rhythms, off-beat collages and found sounds. Surreal, unusual and highly listenable.
