Mux - The Second Confession (R.A.I.G.)
Another great discovery from the St Petersburg scene. Using analogue synthesizers, assorted instruments and digital processing, this duo churns out sludgy, rhythmic tracks with scraping sounds and rusty textures that wouldn't sound out of place on a Mental Destruction album. Add in some fragile melodic squalls and a strong sense of pacing, and you've got a release that definitely deserves attention.

First full-length release from Neutralizing Force, whose arsenal includes metal percussion and finely crafted melodic content. Rrupt - Traverser (Egone)
Stunning ethno-industrial from this obscure and sadly overlooked French project. Inspired by Lionel Tran's novel "Traverser du Désert" and involving a number of other artistic contributions such as the calligraphy of Thomas Foucher and the photography of Jean-Marie Arnouil, "Traverser" is a beautifully presented journey across a scorched desert where daytime mirages cede only to the night's icy winds.

First proper CD release for this new incarnation of Sedaye Marg, courtesy of Coup d'Etat Communications. While a departure from the all-out assault of past releases (which is to a certain degree responsible for the new spelling in its name), it retains the processed and distorted percussions and strident electronics while incorporating more elements from its key subject of modern persian history. A soundtrack to military coups, rapid modernization, misguided faith, betrayals and ultimately rebirth.
