Drape Excrement / Söldnergeist - Black Rider (Steinklang)
Finally some new (or rather unpublished until now) material from Art Konkret residents Drape Excrement and Söldnergeist. This collaboration album seems to put the emphasis on the first project's dynamic type of death industrial, but with an added heavy electronics touch by Söldnergeist. Heads above most of their peers. Artwork by Fabrice Billard, who heads the Divine Comedy label.

Haus Arafna - Butterfly (Galakthorrö)
Long awaited third release from this cult project. Less confrontational and aggressive than "Children of God" but their most personal and emotional work so far. Strongly recommended.

Haus Arafna - Blut (Galakthorrö)
Label info: "Beloved for its rugged charm and its extraordinary harshness, the first Haus Arafna album has been an industrial classic for some considerable time. Since 1995 the original limited edition could only be obtained at horrendous collectors' prices, and ran the risk like many other Galakthorrö presentations of falling foul of the Bootleggers (Help! The Russians are coming!) and now in 2006 it has finally been re-issued, digitally re-mastered with three brilliant extra bonus tracks. The new edition is rounded off visually by a 24 page booklet containing numerous black and white photoplates illustrating the bloody subject matter."

Haus Arafna - You (Galakthorrö)
Seven long years after "Butterfly" Haus Arafna return with another finely crafted piece of angst-pop. Possibly their most elaborate album so far, "You" takes a syncretic approach to the post-industrial styles that have manifested themselves in their work, adding steel-sourced metallic noises and klangs to the sound and integrating influences from the duo's twin project November Növelet. A monument of intimately miserable and misanthropic Arafna Cultura.

Haus Arafna - Children of God (Galakthorrö)
Where the pathology began for most of us, over a decade ago. Bleak, fierce
and essential Haus Arafna material, just as powerful and impressive today as it was then.

Herz Jühning - Miasma (Galakthorrö)
First full-length album from this newcomer to the Galakthorrö family, whose Faces 7" the luckier ones of you may have had a chance to hear. True to the label's tradition, Herz Jühning delivers a compact dose of stylized dread that navigates somewhere between November Növelet's pulsating angst-pop ("Reopened Eyes") and Subliminal's dreary analog power electronics ("The Rape", "Infibulation"). No surprises, no gimmicks, just 13 solid tracks of torpor and contempt.
(CD, digipak with 16-page booklet, $20.00)

Invisible Front - Interferences And Time (Indie-ziert)
Appropriately subtitled "Kampf auf allen Frequenzen", the debut release by this Berlin-based unit chooses the radio as its key subject matter and explores its impact as the first major mass communication tool of the 20th century. As expected, this translates into samples of number stations, historical radio speeches and general shortwave chatter providing a backdrop for over-driven synthetic tones and crackling (yet controlled) noise. The less agitated moments bring to mind SRP's "Schriever Rundflugzeug Projekt" and other Membrum Debile Propaganda releases, but overall this album is much more abrasive than initially hinted at. A struggle on all frequencies indeed.

Iugula Thor / Sshe Retina Stimulants - Performance Ranges (Self Abuse)
The Sshe Retina Stimulants side is a great piece of buzzing noise with spastic synth sounds trying to fight their way through it. Iugula Thor's track is along the lines of his contribution to "The Sounds of Sadism" compilation, and comes off as an a cappella power electronics routine.
