Bardoseneticcube - Tek-Now II (Puzzle God)

For this release, Bardoseneticcube leaves aside the industrial drones for energetic technoïd pieces and strange sampler-heavy rhythms. Includes a couple of genuine "what the hell is this?" moments. Few copies left.

(CD-R, clear jewel case, out of stock)

Freeze Etch - Helios (Immanence)

Debut EP from this new artist signed to Immanence Records, featuring 6 tracks and a remix by Detritus. Freeze Etch combines lightly filtered and dynamic rhythms and melodic sweeps a la Gridlock.

Broken Sounds of a Dying Culture

[mp3 ] [ mp3 ] [ mp3 ]

Frozen Faces - Broken Sounds of a Dying Culture (Wrotycz Records)

Re-release of the 1997 LP by this Deutsch Nepal side-project, along with the two tracks from the "Religion of Hate" 7". While the hypnotic loops of its immediate parent are carried over, this is a much cruder affair, with no room for ornamental effects or intricate structuring. This is stripped-down blunt-as-bones rhythms repeating themselves with mantra-like insistence. Rewarding in the right state of mind, utterly alienating in other circumstances.

The All Too Logical Descent Into Madness

[mp3 ] [ mp3 ] [ mp3 ]

It-Clings vs. Pneumatic Detach - The All Too Logical Descent Into Madness (Bugs Crawling out of People)

Spoken words by It-Clings with pounding beats provided by Pneumatich Detach (Hive Records). Not exactly the "hearing faint voices inside your head" kind either, this is more like inviting a spiteful cynic with a megaphone to rant away to his heart's content from the comfort of inside your cranium. From lucid observations to over-the-top diatribes, there's thankfully enough black humor in here to keep it from turning into a neurotic moan fest. You'll also find out more about a new creative use for a spoon.

De L'Utilité Des Convoyeurs

LCEDP - De L'Utilité Des Convoyeurs (Angle Records)

Label info: "Coming from the speedcore/hardcore area of electronic music, Montreal's LCEDP now delves into the world of rhythm n' noise. His first CD creation, De L'Utilité Des Convoyeurs, takes up where urban exploration leaves off, and strives to return all that decaying matter... to life. A vibrant life, a powerful cry of joy, sadness, anger and bliss altogether. The machines are operational again, and they have a lot to say. LCEDP listened to their message and translated it into his elegant yet stormy and abrasive musical style. The result, you hold in your hands. Noisy and punchy and ultra rhythmic, with a few more introspective and abstract moments..."

Deadclown Hatecrime

Naked Intruder - Deadclown Hatecrime (Mile 329)

The release that resulted in my personal addiction to Mile 329's output when I discovered it back in September 2002. 8-bit chiptune melodies collide with pounding drum patterns in this devastating computerized onslaught that would make Ben Daglish proud. Strongly recommended for those that wonder how much time is left before the Commodore 64 and the Spectrum ZX rule the world with an iron fist.
