Desolation Zone - L'Homme Machine (Beast of Prey)
"L'Homme Machine" is named after a book by French philosopher Julien Offray de La Mettrie, the founder of a radical form of materialism he named mechanism. The six tracks presented here live up to this creed by delivering a solid 38 minutes of cadenced factory noises, mechanical rhythms and instructions barked over the factory's PA systems, like a more electronic and rhythmical version of some Linija Mass or Genetic Transmission tracks. Great stuff.
(CD, circular metal case with insert, black latex gloves and scalpel blade, 13.00 €)

Genetic Transmission - Ascetic (Beast of Prey)
New album from this absurdly overlooked Polish industrial pioneer, whose previous work includes many self-releases on Die Schöne Blumen Musik Werk and activities in projects such as Ładne Kwiatki, Godzilla and Hated Bruit Kollectiv. "Ascetic" is just as abstract and demanding as one would expect, with its brittle electro-acoustic textures slithering and scraping through three 20-min tracks. An acquired taste for some, but those interested in Niellerade Fallibilisthorstar and modern futurism shouldn't ignore this one.
(CD, circular cardboard packaging, 12.00 €)

Goreghast - Nightmares (Beast of Prey)
Debut release from Goreghast, a dark ambient project from Poland by the person also responsible for Paranoia Inducta. The sound is somewhat reminiscent of a more electronic and rough version of some Cold Meat Industry material (Desiderii Marginis and Atrium Carceci do come to mind), with chorals, reversed voices, metallic clangs and all.
(pro-printed CD-R in a three-paneled cardboard sleeve + mesh-like slipcase, 8.00 €, last copy)

Infamis - Upior - Qualis Rex, Talis Grex (Beast of Prey)
Full-length release from the headmaster of Beast of Prey, best described as operatic medieval music performed with electronic instuments.
(CD-R, A5 booklet, 11.00 €, last copy)

Insphera - Shape (Beast of Prey)
Debut release from this Polish project. Droning loop-based dark ambient with mechanical overtones, like lullabies for exhausted machines.

Krepulec - New Radical (Beast of Prey)
Krepulec is a duo involving the head of the Beast of Prey label and the person behind Horologium. While they have released a number of splits and EPs, this is their first full-length album and it's the same blend of martial rhythms, neo-folk and subdued industrial influences as on their previous discs. A note-worthy aspect of this album is the recurrent use of accordions, which adds a nice nostalgic touch to its sound.
(CD, oversized sleeve held by a ribbon, 12.00 €)

Moljebka Pulse / Horologium - Kaukasus (Beast of Prey)
Collaboration release between Moljebka Pulse and Horologium, inspired and devoted to the region where Europe and Asia meet and where ancestral grudges carry on to this day. Meditative drones and rumbling loops try to convey the majesty and richness of the region, but there are unfortunatly no Azeri folk songs to be found here.
(CD, poster sleeve in linen cloth, 12.00 €)

Nekyia - Purgatory As The Serpent Domain (Beast of Prey)
Second release from this Polish band, whose debut album came out on Fluttering Dragon. This one comes across as a darkwave / rhythmic industrial hybrid with some ambient elements and well performed vocals. Think Sanctum but minus the coarse screaming. Nicely done and boasts a well-designed 3-panel sleeve with two inserts.
(CD, A5 sleeve with inserts, 12.00 €, last copy)

Nekyia - Slowmotion Downhells (Beast of Prey)
Fourth Nekyia album, with 6 long tracks that add up to around 52 minutes. Mid-paced ritualistic rhythms and darkwave-style vocals put together over dark ambient backdrops, with a less electro sound than the previous full-length. The rhythms are much more subdued, giving more breathing room to the instruments and dark ambient undertones. This is the normal edition.
(CD, A5 folded envelope with inserts, 12.00 €)

Storm of Capricorn / Paranoia Inducta - Jama (Beast of Prey)
