Label info: "The second volume, this time a collection of darker and more sinister live recordings taken from their tour in Europe early 2006. 42 black minutes of creepy soundscapes painting a depressive picture of a world going down in dust and ashes. The 5 songs all has a weird desperate and dense apocalyptic feel to them, making this a haunting and very bleak experience. Trashy dark rumblings and total coldness. Again very well-edited stuff by Pete Swanson, works more like a full proper album than just a collection of random recordings."

Four unedited live sets from the bands last year in existence. Included are the PDX Pop Now set (July 2007), a live soundtrack to a film by Avalon Kalin (February 2008), a set from the Picador, Iowa City (October 2007), and the final US show in Chicago (June 2008). Big sounding stuff, very loud and very dense, with the melodic guitar work being more prominent just as on the last couple of releases. Epic, sky-shredding beauty in a total playtime of 78 minutes. Mattias Frisk - En Dag I Väntan På Livet (Self-released)
Mattias Frisk is a graphic artist whose collaboration with fellow Swedes Altar of Flies and Gjalp was released not too long ago on Nil By Mouth. This 29-min debut solo release is a wonderfully strange collage of sputtering noise, acoustic pop music and bird songs. Overall, this is an imaginative piece of work that definitely warrants keeping an eye out his future releases. The presentation is equally unusual, as the CD-R comes inside a sealed envelope addressed to Mattias Frisk with a hand-written letter in Swedish and a color insert.

Mattias Frisk - Ett Liv I Väntan På Döden (Self-released)
Second part of what is announced as a trilogy of releases by Swedish artist Mattias Frisk, whose eerie and colorful paintings and collages are just as attention-worthy as his musical output.
Exploring the themes of "time, death and apathy", this second chapter shifts to slower and more dispiriting sounds, with gloomy piano melodies and ghostly drones pierced by brittle noise shards. Solemn and somber like it should be, this definitely comes highly recommended. Packaged like the first volume in an envelope with a hand-written letter in Swedish.
